CSA: Certificate for Occupational Safety Managers (In Person)
The Certificate for Occupational Safety ManagersTM (COSM) program is an advanced, executive-level safety program consisting of 40 hours of specialized training. For participants who are currently an executive-level safety manager, this program will help identify competencies that need to be strengthened.
Upon completion, participants will be able to use self-assessment tools and develop clear objectives, goals, strategies and measures for integrating health and safety processes; create methods for promoting occupational health and safety program initiatives; develop a comprehensive safety management system; build a structure that measures, analyzes and effectively manages aspects of risk; apply techniques to manage injuries and illnesses; and construct programs that provide appropriate awards while effectively managing discipline. These topics are used to practice the communication techniques that are taught for the business environment.
Program Requirements: In order to receive the final COSM certificate-
- Participants must have a minimum of two years of safety, health and environmental work experience
- Complete 40 hours of training; and turn in all completed assignments.
