Supported by USDOT, the Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) ePrimer provides transportation professionals with fundamental concepts and practices related to ITS technologies. Since its initial release in 2013, this resource has been widely used by public and private agencies and educational institutions. In 2020, the USDOT initiated an update to several ITS ePrimer modules to keep up with the significant technological advances that occurred in the ITS world. This free webinar includes presentations on the new Module 4: ITS Data in Decision Making and the updated Module 13: Connected Vehicles.
Module 4-ITS Data in Decision Making contains detailed information on how State and local agencies are at the crest of applying new data and analytics to improve strategic, real-time, and predictive decisions that can save agencies resources and operator workload. These new data and analytics will also help agencies improve the safety, reliability, and efficiency of travel.
Module 13-Connected Vehicles describes the development and eventual deployment of connected vehicles (CVs) within the surface transportation system with an emphasis on ITS. The module addresses the current and emerging connected ecosystem, technologies, demonstrations, and challenges of deploying infrastructure in support of connected vehicle applications.
