Online Training with CDOT and FHWA
March 17 AND 18
9:00-11:00 AM AND 1:00-3:00 PM (BOTH Days)
This is a total 8-hour training broken into 2 x 4-hour online sessions. Participants must attend BOTH days to receive full RS II Credit.
Meeting Format: Microsoft Teams
Required: Computer microphone and speakers (headset recommended). No access via phone
Program Topics:
Did you know the number of pedestrian crashes are going up in Colorado? Did you know the majority of pedestrian fatalities and serious injuries happen when pedestrians are crossing the roadway? Did you know you can do something about it? Register for this 8 hour virtual workshop where you’ll be able to engage in the reasons why pedestrians get into crashes and what you can do to help prevent them by learning and applying the “Spectacular 7” safety treatments.

Target Audience:
This training will focus on needs of transportation planners and engineers in the Greater Denver Area, however, participants are not limited to this area. Due to limited space, for this particular session, Denver area agencies would be given priority over others.
Optional Class Projects:
Participants are encouraged to bring projects of their choice to the Workshop. Upon review and selection by the instructors, the projects may be used as classroom exercises. Participants are also encouraged to share recent pedestrian safety improvements implemented by their agencies.
