This class builds on material from "Basic Math for Roadway Workers". We strongly recommend that you attend that class, before attending this more advanced class. View our course schedule - the "Basic Math for Roadway Workers" class is offered the day prior in each location.

In the Advanced Math Applications for Roadway Workers class, we will focus on using math principles in transportation applications.

It will cover:

  • Geometry
  • Trigonometry
  • Road Gradient and Slope
  •  Estimating Material Quantities
  • Surveying Applications
  • ...and more!

Roads Scholar I

This course is an elective in the Roads Scholar I course track.


Registration Fee

The registration fee for this workshop is $50 per person for employees of government agencies and $75 per person for non-government agencies. Fee includes class handout and lunch. Invoices will be sent upon receipt of registration form. Invoices can be paid by cash, check, money order, or credit card.


Cancellation Policy

Please be considerate of those on the waiting list, cancel early if necessary. A full refund will be made if you cancel no later than 3 business days prior to the training day; otherwise, you will forfeit the registration fee.


Special Notes

In order to receive credit for this class, attendees must stay until the end when it is dismissed by the instructor and class certificates are awarded.

Instructors

Railsback, Renee

Renée Railsback is the Director of Colorado LTAP; and is a past President of the National LTAP Association. She has been with the center for 18 years. Her background is in structural materials & research for CDOT in FRP rebar for concrete pavements. Renée has a BS in Civil Engineering from WPI in MA, and received 2 Masters degrees from CU in Architecture Design and Structural Engineering Mechanics of Materials. She was an professor in the graduate Architecture department at CU Denver, and now teaches for LTAP and APWA on a variety of topics.
