CDL: Train the Trainer

**LTAP is partnering with CDOT to provide this CDL: Train the Trainer Course**

Please note: this course is provided free of cost, courtesy of LTAP in partnership with CDOT.Registration will initially be limited to 2 from any agency. This restriction will be lifted 5 days prior to the course.

After the February 7, 2022 regulatory change, Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) with a certified trainer became federally mandated. Training must include classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training. It is required for first-time commercial drivers and anyone wanting to upgrade or add endorsements to their CDL.

CDOT has developed an internal program that can be replicated in local agencies to incentivize applicants and established a qualified workforce. This course will help get those in-house resources certified to train within their departments. 

This class is meant for individuals who provide in-class and behind-the-wheel training involving the actual operation of a CMV by an entry-level driver on a range or public road. 

To attend, you must meet at least one of these qualifications:

• Holds CDL of same or higher class, 2 years CMV driving experience, and meets state requirements for CMV instructor. 
• Holds CDL of dame or higher class, 2 years experience as a CMV instructor, and meets state requirements for a CMV instructor. 
• Is prohibited from engaging in BTW instruction for 2 years if CDL has been suspended or revoked for any disqualifying offense

ALL ATTENDEES MUST HAVE A GMAIL ACCOUNT TO ATTEND AND COMPLETE THIS COURSE.
